Zach and Julie Ertz Pledge to Provide 500,000 Meals to Fight Hunger in Arizona

September 23, 2022 – Phoenix AZ – The Ertz Family Foundation and The Athletes’ Corner are teaming up again to fight hunger through the on-field performance of the Arizona Cardinals. The two foundations are running back their Score More n’ Feed More initiative, where they will help provide meals to Arizona food banks for every touchdown the Cardinals score this season.

Last year, the Score More n’ Feed More initiative helped provide a total of 150,000 meals to food banks in Arizona. This year, Zach and Julie are personally raising the bar, by pledging to help provide 500,000 meals to food banks via the Score More n’ Feed More initiative!

Score More n’ Feed More will launch this Sunday as the Cardinals host the Rams, and will last the duration of the 2022-23 NFL season. Since the Cardinals have already played two games thus far, the campaign will also include the meals that would have been provided from the seven touchdowns the team has already scored. This means the meal-count is already up to 70,000 meals heading into week 3.

“Julie and I are proud to provide 500,000 meals this season with The Athletes’ Corner! We are passionate about doing all we can to support the children and families who are affected by food insecurity in our home state of Arizona, and we are excited to support as many people as possible through our Score More n’ Feed More initiative.” – Zach Ertz, Super Bowl Champion TE

This is the third year that The Ertz Family Foundation has partnered with The Athletes’ Corner to help fight hunger. Through their campaigns with Zach and the Eagles, Julie and the USWNT at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and then again with Zach and the Cardinals last year – the two foundations have helped provide a total of 1.4 million meals to families in need with the help of Feeding America.

“We absolutely love working with Zach and Julie. They are constantly striving to serve wherever they can, and truly live out their faith. They perfectly embody the mission of The Athletes’ Corner, by using their platforms to help those who need it most.” – Brennen Creer, Co-Founder and CEO of The Athletes’ Corner

Zach and Julie also welcomed their first child, Madden, in August – and as new parents, the Ertzes want to use their platforms to help other children in need.

According to Feeding America, 798,790 people are facing hunger in Arizona – and of them, 269,610 are children. That means roughly 1 in 6 children are facing hunger. So, the motive for this year’s Score More n’ Feed More campaign will be to help feed as many of these struggling children as possible.

The Ertz Family Foundation and The Athletes’ Corner have a goal to help provide over 1 million meals this season through the initiative, and will actively look for those who want to join the cause.
